The Firestone family papers include personal papers, photographs, and collected materials related to family history, significant events, and travels of Idabelle and Harvey S. Firestone and their son, Harvey S. Firestone Jr. The bulk of the materials relate to the personal life of Elizabeth Parke and Harvey Firestone Jr. and the Elizabeth Parke Firestone designer couture collection. The papers are arranged in the following series: Family History, 1804-1985 (.2 cubic ft.); Idabelle and Harvey Firestone, 1913-1981 (.2 cubic ft.); Elizabeth Parke and Harvey Firestone Jr., 1808-1989 (2.8 cubic ft.); Elizabeth Parke Firestone Couture, 1921-1991 (5.2 cubic ft., 2 oversize folders and 1 scrapbook); and Negatives, 1920-1991 (.4 cubic ft.). There is oversize material in each series except the Negative series.

Harvey Samuel Firestone was the founder of Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, one of the first global makers of automobile tires.
